ALL ABOUT ESME…
Esme Knight has been making jewellery since her childhood. Coming from a family of dressmakers, seamstresses and upholsterers, the design gene is in Esme’s blood.
After college she started to design and make several outfits, mostly for herself, which ultimately influenced her work backstage in the local theatre and she became part of the in-house Wardrobe team for several touring theatre shows such as Fame, Grease and The Hobbit. In 2008, Esme left her high profile job as a duty manager for the London Dungeon, to pursue a more creative career, and moved to Nottingham and began Cobweb Designs.
What began as a hobby remained a passion throughout her life and has now become part of her business. Esme’s unique sense of style and eye for the unconventional influences her designs, resulting in her creation of beautiful and glamourous bespoke headpieces for both Bridal and Formal Wear.
As well as her popular bespoke Bridal service, Esme has a large selection of jewellery and hair accessories suitable for formal wear, themed occasions, or even a simple night out on the town!
Her designs also include Stage and Dance hairpieces and accessories in a wide range of colours and styles to suit any performance or competition. Esme’s creations have been on dance floors and stages in all areas of the country. She currently designs bespoke hair pieces for a Regional Line Dance Champion and European Finalist.
Esme says: “I love the fact I am able to help others realise their dream pieces, whether for Bridal wear or for Competition performance – all those times when you really want to impress. I always enjoy the challenge of a design project - and I love to be inspired !”
