I love to create something unique for someone knowing that it goes towards making a special occasion extra special… here’s some comments from those who have commissioned pieces from Cobweb Designs
I hope you will enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoyed making them
.
Rebecca ~ Bridal; Rebecca was searching for necklaces for her bridesmaids when we bumped into one another at The Bead Shop. She liked the Filigree leaves that were on display and asked if I could create four pieces in her colour scheme. These delicate pendants were strung on simple bead wire and have been created using silver plated wire twisted with glass pearls in cream and mauve together with swarovski bi-cones, all of varying sizes to give an organic feel.
.
Ros Wright ~ Bridal; Ros approached me to create two bespoke pieces for her and her bridesmaid sister. Her gown was in ivory and champagne and her sister’s dress green silk, most importantly Ros wanted her piece to match a beautiful set of green fresh-water pearls she had borrowed. Also as Ros has fine hair she wanted to wear it loose so I created this gorgeous alice band using matching fresh-water pearls, glass pearls in gold and champagne, ‘olivine’ & ‘golden shadow’ swarovski bi-cones, and gold and dark green seed beads. The complimenting bridesmaid piece has champagne organza flowers and also uses the above components, both are mounted on gold-plated alice bands.
Ros says: ~ “The head pieces are
fantastically beautiful… Thank you so
much they are perfect we both
love them
) …Thank you very very much.”

Rachel Slack ~ Bridal; Rachel had a Pagan Hand-Fasting and had chosen to have real ivy entwined in her hair. She commissioned a set of 6 hair pins to add a little extra sparkle to her ‘up-do’. These pins are created using ‘olivine’ & ‘moonlight’ swarovski bi-cones and large silver centred seed beads and are mounted on brown pins to match Rachel’s hair.

Marian ~ Bridal; As a mature bride Marian had chosen not to wear a traditional gown but a colourful formal cocktail dress and commissioned a contemporary and stylish fascinator to accompany it. I created Marian’s piece using a single flower as the focus remounting it with a crystal centre and added both soft feathers and fushia ostrich plumes offset by 8mm swarovski crystal stalks.

Cheryl Edwards ~ Bridal; Lucky Cheryl had won a local competition and had many effects supplied as part of the prize including her gown, jewellery and flowers. She commissioned two floral pieces; her bridesmaids bouquet and her cake corsage so that they could be kept as ‘keepsakes’ after the day. The bridesmaids bouquet has been created in lilac to compliment her dress, each flower has been remounted on a crystal stem and here and there accented with lilac ostrich plumes, Cheryl’s claret colour scheme has also been incorporated into the piece as a beautiful contrast. The cake corsage has been created using paper roses and ostrich plumes in claret, with a bit of added sparkle!
Cheryl says: ~ “I was looking for a centre piece for my wedding cake that complimented the colour scheme of my dress and Esme came up with this corsage… which was perfect in every way!”

.
Sara Wragg ~ Bridal; Sara requested four pieces for herself and her three bridesmaids. She chose a classic theme of ivory and claret and selected two pieces from the collection and commissioned the other two for the younger bridesmaids: one a ‘little princess’ the other a ‘total tomboy’. We decided an elasticated fabric band was the only way to ensure our ‘tomboy’ would keep it on while our ‘princess’ could prance about in an alice band all day! This beaded band is silk crepe decorated with organza flowers and a ‘vine’ of pearl seed beads and moonlight swarovski bi-cone crystals.

Becky Jeffery ~ Social; Becky was looking for a accessory for social occasions that would compliment her short hairstyle. She was really drawn to the fairy amethyst piece I had on display. After trying it on she chose to have her piece created just on one side and in dark red & black and asked me to keep it delicate and floaty. I’ve created Becky’s piece using ‘garnet’ & ‘jet’ swarovski bicone crystals in various sizes accented with resin cast ivory pearls and of course these delicate ‘claret’ ostrich stand plumes. It is mounted on a silver plated alice band.
Becky says ~ The fascinator arrived a couple of days ago and is beautiful – thank-you. I played with it this evening. The colours are stunning and it’s got just the right amount of detail for me. Not too fussy. Well done!!

Kayleigh Leigh ~ Bridal commission; Kayleigh was getting married in Italy, then returning for a reception in the UK. She commission pieces for herself and young daughter inspired by the autumn gold pieces I had on display but adapted to her theme of Love Hearts in Ivory, Gold & Black. She wanted to wear her hair long in ringlets and so these alice bands were a perfect choice for a loose style. These pieces incorporate; gold vinyl leaves, gold and ivory pearls, with Jet love hearts and black synthetic ‘ostrich’ feather mounted on gold-plated alice bands.

Ami Walker ~ Dancer; Ami is a self employed teacher and choregrapher of Black Velvet Dance, she also competes. Her trademark colours are black & silver and she commissioned this fantastic feature comb to add a bit of extra sparkle to her costume on the floor. It has to be light-weight and easily secured, therefore this was made using swarovski crystals as well as larger lighter plastic ‘crystals’ bound with fine silver-plated wire to a plastic comb; wire loops are incorporated into the design enabling Ami to fix it into her hairstyle so that it doesn’t fall when she dances.
Ami says: ~ “I was thoroughly delighted to receive my hair comb and couldn’t wait for my next competition so that I could try it out! Despite it’s complexity and grandeur, the piece is very light and perfectly balanced so I didn’t need lots of extra grips to hold it in place, in fact I think I only used three. The piece was designed with my personality in mind as well as my costume and when on the dance floor it sparkled fantastically. I am so thrilled with the result I have commissioned more pieces with a different colour scheme to wear with a different costume! I would highly recommend these accessories to all dancers and performers.”

Karen Foster ~ Wedding guest; Karen is attending a number of weddings in the coming year and wanted to treat herself to a complete outfit that she can wear for all of them. Karen has a short hairstyle and feels that hats don’t suit her so she commissioned this dazzling ‘Explosion’ alice band inspired by an amethyst one I had on display. Karen’s piece incorporates semi-precious crystals into the design; Lapis Lasuli & Blue Lace Agate which can aid confidence and communication, together with swarovski crystals and tri-colour blue seed beads mounted on a silver-plated alice band… Karen’s only concern now is that she’ll out-do the Bride!
Karen says: ~ “Just to say thank you very, very much. The fascinator is more gorgeous than I could have imagined and is so much more beautiful than in the photo because it shimmers and shines in the light. I can’t wait for my brothers wedding so that I can wear my fascinator knowing that there won’t be another person wearing the same one. It truly is a work of art and I shall be recommending you to everyone I know.”
